ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ students earn Underwater Pumpkin Carving certification

Students at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) took the Halloween tradition of carving pumpkins to a new level— deep below the water’s surface in the College’s dive training lagoon on the Key West Campus on Wednesday. The ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Student Activities department hosted the event for students to create jack-o’-lanterns underwater as well as on dry land.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ graduates Law Enforcement and Correctional Officer Academies

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) held a graduation ceremony for two academies completed through its Institute for Public Safety (IPS) on October 22 at the Key West Campus. A total of 21 cadets—14 in a basic law enforcement academy and seven in a correctional officer academy—successfully completed their respective training program.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) invites prospective students to learn more about the various academic and career training opportunities available at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ through a virtual information event on Wednesday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ to hold Dual Enrollment & Early College virtual info event

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) will hold a virtual event for Monroe County high school students and their parents/ guardians to learn more about its Dual Enrollment and Early College opportunities on Wednesday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. Through both programs, high school students can simultaneously earn college and high school credits at no cost to the student. The programs provide a head start to college for students while potentially saving families thousands of dollars. At the virtual events, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will discuss the benefits of each program, requirements to participate, and the application process.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ graduates law enforcement academy in Upper Keys

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) celebrated the graduation of Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) Academy #78 on October 8 at the College’s Upper Keys Center in Key Largo. Fourteen cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program. Upon passing the state certification exam, each will be eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer.

College to hold virtual info session on Construction Apprenticeships

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) invites prospective students to learn about its Apprenticeships in Construction Technologies at a virtual information session on Tuesday, October 12 at 5:30 p.m. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ is offering Plumbing and HVAC programs in Key West and the Upper Keys this upcoming spring semester, which begins January 7.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½â€™ invites the community to celebrate the birthday of the United States Government at its annual Constitution Day event on Thursday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787, thus laying the foundation of our government, rights, and freedoms.

Key West VFW Post 3911 supports ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ scholarship for veterans, service members, dependents

The Southernmost Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) donated $1,000 to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Foundation on August 10 to support the VFW Post 3911 Ed Moran Memorial Scholarship. Established in 2015, this scholarship pays tribute to the late VFW Post Commander.

College cuts ribbon on new Upper Keys Center in Key Largo

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) celebrated the grand opening of its new Upper Keys Center in Key Largo today. More than 100 community leaders, elected officials, and partners, employees, and supporters of the College gathered for a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the opening the highly anticipated new center, prominently positioned on the Overseas Highway.
