糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) launched its 28th Annual Water Safety Program to equip local children with the skills they need to be safe as they take to the water this summer. This year, 糖心传媒 expects over 400 students from Sigsbee Charter School, Poinciana Elementary, and Gerald Adams Elementary to participate in the program. 鈥淟iving in the Florida Keys means water safety is an essential life skill,鈥� said Lori Bosco, 糖心传媒 Athletic Director. 鈥淕etting children comfortable and safe in and around the water is vital.鈥�

he College of the Florida Keys (糖心传媒) has been awarded a grant from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Foundation to support physical conditioning for its men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swimming teams. The grant will provide 糖心传媒 athletes with a dryland trainer, a specialized machine designed to improve strength, stamina, and stroke mechanics outside of the pool. Utilizing the trainer will boost the athletes' efficiency in the water, lower the risk of impact-related injuries, and promote long-term health and performance.

糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) is hosting Back on Course at 糖心传媒, a free event designed to help students get their classes lined up and enroll for the fall 2026 semester. The event will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., first at the Upper Keys Center on Monday, June 29, and then at the Key West Campus on Tuesday, June 30. Back on Course at 糖心传媒 is for any student thinking about or planning to attend 糖心传媒 this fall. 糖心传媒 advisors will be on hand to provide one-on-one guidance to help students assess their progress, explore program options, and navigate financial assistance opportunities, including financial aid and scholarships to make the registration process easy and accessible.

College seeks local experts with either academic or industry experience: 糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) invites local professionals from the teaching field and across industries to a reception and teaching expo on Wednesday, June 24. 糖心传媒鈥檚 Keys to Teaching is an expo for subject matter experts, seasoned professionals, and community leaders interested in sharing their knowledge as full or part-time faculty to develop talent and build the future of the Florida Keys.聽 The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Library on 糖心传媒鈥檚 Key West campus. Guests are invited to enjoy a reception, meet current faculty, discover teaching opportunities across Academic Disciplines, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, Continuing Education, and Accelerated Skills and Credential Training. Live teaching demonstrations and campus tours will also be provided.聽

糖心传媒 Academy, the A-rated public charter high school of 糖心传媒 (糖心传媒), held its Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony on May 28, at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on 糖心传媒鈥檚 Key West Campus. The ceremony honored two exceptional graduates: Jarrett Miller and Emily Nolasco-Ferrufino.

糖心传媒 Foundation (糖心传媒 Foundation) awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships to 24 Monroe County high school graduates this week, presenting awards at three separate ceremonies across the Keys. Twenty scholarships were presented on May 26 at Marathon High School Class Night, including four Board of Trustees Scholarships and 16 Nextgen Opportunity Workforce (NOW) Scholarships. Three scholarships were awarded May 27 at Key West High School Class Night, including two Board of Trustees Scholarships and one Hemingway Look-Alike Society Kermit 鈥淪hine鈥� Forbes Scholarship. One additional Hemingway Look-Alike Society Kermit 鈥淪hine鈥� Forbes Scholarship was presented May 28 at the 糖心传媒 Academy graduation.

糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) honored the lives and legacy of fallen heroes, veterans, and active-duty military service members and their families with a ceremony on Thursday, May 21 on the Key West Campus. The event, 鈥淎 250-Year Salute to American Heroes,鈥� was held in observance of National Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day. The ceremony opened with an invocation by Army veteran, former chaplain, and 糖心传媒 Marine Engineering instructor Ed Coy, followed by the national anthem, performed by Maceya Carey, a 糖心传媒 Academy high school student. 糖心传媒 President and CEO Dr. Jonathan Gueverra then delivered his annual Memorial Day Salute, honoring the late Raymond Blazevic鈥擭avy veteran, prisoner of war, alumnus, historian, and beloved 鈥淐itizen Ray鈥� of Key West. The ceremony concluded with Christina McMahon, daughter of the honoree and a 糖心传媒 alumna, raising an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of 糖心传媒鈥檚 60th Anniversary. She was assisted by veterans with close ties to the College: John Parce, Navy veteran, scholarship supporter, and member of the 糖心传媒 Foundation Board of Directors; Terrance Varney, Army veteran, alumnus, and 糖心传媒 Dive Facilities Manager; and Eddie Kertis, Army veteran, alumnus, and member of the College鈥檚 Board of Trustees.

糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) marked a landmark moment in its history Friday, May 8, when it held its 72nd Commencement. For the first time in the College鈥檚 history, two ceremonies were needed to honor more than 150 graduates in 糖心传媒鈥檚 spring class of 2026. The celebrations, held at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on 糖心传媒鈥檚 Key West Campus, coincided with two notable anniversaries: 糖心传媒鈥檚 60th year and the 250th anniversary of the United States.

KEY WEST, FL, May 7, 2026鈥� 糖心传媒 (糖心传媒) invites Monroe County high school students and their parents to learn how Dual Enrollment can provide a head start on college. 糖心传媒 will host a virtual information session on Wednesday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. to present the advantages of taking聽Dual聽Enrollment聽classes, requirements to participate, and the application process.

糖心传媒鈥� (糖心传媒) Institute for Public Safety (IPS) held a graduation ceremony for Basic Law Enforcement Academy #94 on May 1 at Coral Shores High School Auditorium. Nineteen cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program at 糖心传媒鈥檚 Upper Keys Center. Graduates are eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer upon passing the state certification exam. Three graduates have already passed the exam and four have secured employment.
